Say Hello To Our Community

Mark

After a successful 33-year career at a leading department store in London as a Warehouse Manager, Mark is now enjoying the slower, restful pace of life in Spain.

Mark manages the maintenance and upkeep of the apartment and gardens, he is the visionary and builder of any improvements projects to Casa de Alegria.

Mark’s passion is in woodwork, he spends hours creating and crafting objects, cupboards, headboards and decks, whatever the client wants, he can design and make it just for you.

Whatever you need on retreat, he is on hand to help.  Whether that is our transport collection services, leading walks, workshops or assisting in the preparation of breakfast, drinks, snacks, smoothies, and juices, you can count on Mark to be there.

Louie

Louie is affectionately known as Chief Doggie Comfort Officer and is an integral part of Casa de Alegria.

He loves pawing over plans and signing off on projects. Louie oversees all works, loves getting involved on the Yoga mat and enjoying cuddles with guests. He is equally happy to stay indoors and nap if you aren’t that keen on dogs, he’s chilled either way.

Caroline

After almost 30 years working in various corporate companies in London as Executive Assistant, Office Manager and HR Officer, Caroline knew it was time for a change.  She first discovered yoga in a London gym in 2005 as a physical practice of exercise.  This evolved over time and has been responsible for subtle shifts of awareness, taking her from a hectic, burnt-out, London lifestyle to living at a relaxed, peaceful pace in Spain.

Caroline believes that yoga is accessible to everyone, and you are never too old or inflexible to start your practice.  She offers a reflective, and functional movement style.  She encourages you to listen to your body, being mindful of how you are feeling and letting go of anything that no longer serves you.

Yoga is a tool for deepening self-awareness and connection to self, in her teaching, Caroline encourages this growth and the understanding that Yoga is a lifestyle not just a posture. As Vanda Scaravelli eloquently said “Teaching is not an imposition of the teachers will over that of the pupil, not at all.  Teaching starts with freedom and ends with freedom”.

Our Green Way Of Life

At Casa de Alegria, believe in living a green way of life. We are dedicated to reducing waste, conserving resources, and supporting local communities.

We live an Ayurvedic lifestyle, sourcing locally and seasonally, using organic products, and crafting our own eco-friendly cleaning solutions. We invest in eco-friendly equipment, recycle, and encourage waste reduction with our guests.

Collaborating with like-minded local partners, we host green cleaning workshops and have plans to transition to solar power in the near future. We educate our clients on green living, empowering them to make environmentally conscious choices.

At Casa de Alegria, being green isn't just a practice; it's a way of life we embrace and share with our community.

All-Inclusive Meals

Set Healthy New Habits

If you are here on retreat and have not tried Ayurvedic food before, you are in for a treat. Here at Casa de Alegria, we like to introduce new concepts and allow new experiences, so be prepared to try a whole new way of eating and thinking about food. We follow the Ayurvedic belief that food is medicine, so our menu is conscious, mainly plant based, organic, gluten free, locally sourced and seasonal.

The food is lovingly prepared and cooked by our team at Casa de Alegria using a combination of home cooked meals, restaurant visits and private chefs. The restaurants and private chefs are specially selected by us and are known as some of the best in the area. There are options for vegan cooking demos, and we incorporate some traditional Spanish dishes for you to enjoy.

We cater for intolerances, allergies, or preferences. You don’t like mushrooms? Tell us and we’ll make sure we don’t serve you any.

Breakfast is buffet style, self-serve, other meals are fully catered. Outside of breakfast, lunch and dinner times, there is an abundance of fruit, nuts and healthy cakes or snacks along with water, juice, tea, herbal tea and coffee available all day long.

What’s more, we offer self-catering retreats or self-catering apartment only stays.
